Skoda bringing Octavia Combi to India in May
Skoda has had great showing in India. They spent little on advertisement but delivered great cars at great value. Indians showed that they appreciated that fact and have bought the Octavia model in large numbers. While, we wait for the company to launch its much-awaited model Fabia, the company is continuing the series of launches of variants of Skoda Octavia.
The Czech automaker is now planning to create a new segment in the Indian market consisting of luxury class station wagons. It is called Skoda Octavia Combi and it should land here in the Indian market as soon as May. The car is expected to provide an excellent cargo capacity of 1500 liters and Skoda plans to launch it in both petrol and diesel models.
The interesting part is that no other auto manufacturer has dared to enter in this segment where it is quite doubtful whether anyone would be interested in spending more than 10 lakh rupees on a station wagon. Skoda plans to take the advantage of being the first entrant in this market.
Impressively, the car is only around 30 Kilos heavier than the routine Octavia, which would not affect the performance of the car by much. Octavia is known for its excellent fuel economy and good performance, something similar can be expected from this new variant. Experts expect this car to cost in the range of around 13 lakhs to 16 lakhs of rupees.
Let us see, how Skoda Octavia Combi performs in the Indian market. Both Corsa and Baleno had modest success with their station wagon models in the midsize car segment while the Indigo Marina itself is doing small numbers.

skoda should never try any estate models in India . Indians are always for there sedan models including there much awaited Fabia. They should go for the Fabia sedan with 1.9 TDI Engine in India

This will definitely be a disaster. Why would a person willing to 16lakhs need 1500 liters of space to lug around stuff ???

I thought that the Fabia Sedan/COmbi would come in the 7-8 Lakh bracket as it is much smaller than the Octavia. But the moot question is that WHEN will it be launched. I have been hearing the “launch in 6 months” story for the past 2 years
