Toyota working on an affordable sports car model

Toyota President Akio Toyoda has revealed that the company is working on a new sports car model that would be priced affordably.

He said: “My hope is I can transfer some enthusiasm from the race track to our vehicles. Toyota plans to build an exciting, fun-to-drive affordable sports car and launch it within the next few years.”

Toyoda spoke about the current global economic situation: “I am confident our industry will overcome the current crisis and move forward to a brighter future.”

He further said that the US based automakers are also likely to recover from their current disastrous situation.

Toyoda further said: “Now is the time for us to seize the moment to be leaders and to work together for the good of our customer and the good of society. By listening to our customer and working together we can better meet customer needs we can reinvent automobiles and we can create the dynamic industry for the next century.”
