Microsoft introduces Video Download Service for Mobile Devices
Users of Microsoft Operating System powered mobile devices have a new surprise in store for them. The company has just started a new service through which they would now be able to download daily TV programs, news and sport headlines, comedy, music videos, and independent films. This video download service is specially developed for Windows powered Smartphones, Pocket PCs and portable media centers.
They are currently serving only the customers based in the United States. It costs around USD 19.95 though some of the content provided would be free for download. Microsoft has collaborated with around 20 firms who would be providing it with the content for these mobile devices. Some of the popular names being Microsoft’s own MSNBC, Fox Sports, MTV, and Napster.
Users of these devices would be able to download this content for future viewing anywhere. They would have to sign up which would let them download the content to their PCs from where it can be transferred to the mobile device. Users would also have to option to time limit the duration for which the content would remain on the mobile device thus preventing filling up the complete available space with old dated shows.
However, users would have to use Microsoft’s own Windows Media Player to make use of this new service.
