Apple iPod to get a spot in Hewlett-Packard computers

Hewlett-Packard seems to have developed a taste for Apple’s iPod. As a result, they are planning to give it a special spot on computers designed to be Media Center PCs. The company would be adding a spot for iPod on their upcoming Media Center m7000 desktop PC. The computer would feature a molded piece of holder, which would wrap around iPod’s dock. This would make a perfect compliment to the iPod users who decide to opt against switching to Mac platform.

Now, the surprising part of this news is that Apple did not think of it first. Or maybe they have not implemented it yet. Considering, Apple rarely opens its cards before just surprising all its fans with amazing stuff… HP might have pulled up this one on them! Rumors claim that a similar sort of a port was being planned for the Mac Mini but Apple decided against it.

In other news, there are rumors circulating around on the web, which says that Apple has adopted Windows Media for their iTunes and iPod products. However, logic says this is just a rumor (April Fools Joke) and nothing else considering it means that Apple would have to adopt open standards thus limiting their hold over the closed nature of iPod.

Things should be clear in the coming days! For Apple fans, there is an application available in the market, which is designed to bring partial functionalities of Apple’s iTunes to Sony’s hugely successful PSP gaming console. It let users synchronize music from iTunes play lists directly onto the PSP’s memory cards. Look out for that!
