Nokia to expand product range with low cost mobiles in India

Nokia chief executive and president Olli-Pekka Kallsvuo has announced that they are going to expand their presence further in the Indian market with launch of new affordable mobile phones.

He said: “India is our second-largest market. We aim to remove the affordability barrier. We need to make mobility more accessible in India.”

Nokia is already the leading mobile phone supplier in India.

The company did not reveal how low they are aiming to go with the prices of their mobile handsets in India.

Indian mobile market is largely dominated by cheap mobile handsets. The country has around 400 million mobile users.
