VW India aims to sell 1 lakh cars by 2014
Volkswagen has been taking India very seriously as a market for growth in the coming years.
The German automaker is scheduled to launch their Polo model in India.
The company has now said that they are aiming to sell at least 1 lakh cars in India by the year 2014.
Most of these sales would be generated through the Polo model which would be positioned against Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20.
Volkswagen India said: “We will be launching the hatchback model of Polo some time during the first half of next year and bring the sedan model in the fall of 2010. With the introduction of Polo, we will move into the mass-volume car market in India and we hope to take our sales to one lakh units by 2014.”
VW Polo is one of the most awaited new cars in India.
