Nokia N900 with Maemo 5 announced
Nokia has announced their latest mobile internet device Nokia N900.
Nokia N900 as expected comes powered by Maemo 5 mobile platform based on the Linux OS.
The device comes equipped with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5-inch, 800×480-pixel touchscreen.
Nokia N900 comes powered with a 600-MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. Technologies supported on this device include: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration.
Nokia has also loaded a very capable 5 megapixel digital camera. It supports GSM, Edge and GPRS networks.
The company spoke about this new product: “The Nokia N900 shows where we are going with Maemo, and we’ll continue to work with the community to push the software forward. What we have with Maemo is something that is fusing the power of the computer, the Internet, and the mobile phone, and it is great to see that it is evolving in exciting ways.”
On the software front, Nokia is providing a Mozilla Firefox based mobile browser with Adobe Flash support.
