AMD launches six-core Opteron EE
Microprocessor manufacturer AMD has announced the launch of their latest processor model.
Six-core AMD Opteron EE is a low power consuming edition of their six-core Opteron processor.
This new processor has been launched just in time for the upcoming VMworld show that opens today.
AMD said that this new processors consume just 40 watts which makes it suitable for use on 2P servers.
It would retail for around USD 989 and is already shipping now.
