Amazon.com offers replacement copies of 1984 and Animal Farm to Kindle owners

Amazon made headlines when they remotely deleted 1984 and Animal Farm eBooks from the Kindle devices.

These deletions were made without informing the owners. We later found out that the copies were not allowed to be sold through their web store.

The company refunded the money spent by their users for these eBooks.

Amazon has now revealed that they are now offering to replace these copies with authorized versions. These copies would include the custom annotations made by the user while he was reading the eBook on their Kindle.

Customers can also chose to receive a $30 gift certificate or check if they do not want those eBooks back.
