Podcasts might be the next big thing with millions of users
Apple might have started a trend, which might become the next big thing in the online digital content segment. It is called Podcasting and it refers to online broadcasts, which can be downloaded, saved, and transferred to any digital music player for future listening. Fortunately, the concept goes beyond just Apple iPods as a range of audio players supports it.
Incidentally, latest reports from the organization Pew Internet & American Life Project claims that more than 6 million adults in the United States have downloaded a Podcast sometime or the other in the recent months. The organization surveyed 2,201 people through a telephonic survey including owners of iPods or other MP3 players.
Interestingly, both men and women users of these devices are equally likely to use a Podcast for future listening on their music player. And estimates from the company suggest that around 22 million American adults own one or the other of these music devices.
These Podcasts comes in all sort of flavors. They includes anywhere from a musical show to a tech program to a radio recording and what not. There are sites online which keeps tracks of these Podcasts where users can get the information. The limits of the possibilities are unlimited as the concept grows on to reach a mature state.
