Microsoft Zune HD launch has been less than spectacular
Microsoft has finally launched the latest edition of Zune portable media players.
Zune HD is now on sale in the market.
Customers love this device for its high quality display screen.
The user interface is also fresh impressing the users.
The device provides 720p HD output, on-demand music features, and advanced graphics capabilities. It is loaded with the Nvidia Tegra chip enabling all the high end display functionalities.
There are some problems however. The Zune HD software is said to be not working on Windows XP 64 bit. Microsoft has also not opened the Zune HD platform to third party developers yet.
Prices:
Zune HD 16GB: USD 219
Zune HD 32GB: USD 289

i understand the criticism of not allowing 3rd party dev teams at it yet, but XP 64bit? XP is almost 10 years old, and their 64 bit xp was a late coming fluke of an os with a whole lot of problems. i guess it doesn't support ME either?

they are of course not supporting Linux and Mac OS X either.

Well, THAT was a bizarre comment.
(Taps on shoulder) Hey, it's Microsoft's OWN operating system, albeit it's older. Not supporting it is bone-headed. It's similar to not being able to sync the Zune, a nice device, to Windows Media Player.
