Seagate Barracuda XT 3.5-inch 6Gbps 2TB shipping now
Seagate has announced that they are finally shipping their 3.5-inch 6Gbps 2TB hard disk.
They have named it Seagate Barracuda XT.
It uses SATA3 technology and theoretically can transfer a CD worth of data per second!
Seagate Barracuda XT is a 7200 RPM drive and it comes with 64MB of cache memory.
As expected it would require special hardware support in the computer (6Gbps SATA controller).
6Gbps SATA controllers are now available in high end motherboards from both Asus (Asus P7P55D Premium) and Gigabyte (GA-P55-Extreme).
