Pirate Party of Canada launches Captain Tracker!

Pirate Party of Canada has announced the launch of their own private tracker.

They are using this tracker to promote artists who wants to release their content through creative commons.

The aim of this tracker is to show that the bittorrent technology is not just used for online piracy.

It has great benefits especially for media and content distribution online.

Pirate Party spokesman Jake Daynes spoke about their tracker named Captain: “We’re starting a BitTorrent tracker to show artists how to properly use P2P technology in order to gain access to a cheap and efficient marketing and distribution network. In addition we hope to show the public that P2P is not only for ‘illegal’ activity, and that it can be used to allow aspiring artists access to the global stage. A tracker is the epitome of file sharing, and one of our platform ‘planks’ as it were, is about the promotion of file sharing.”
