Nokia facing legal problems in launching Ovi store in Brazil
Nokia has revealed that they are facing legal issues with the launch of their Ovi mobile service in the Brazilian market.
The brand name has been challenged by a Brazilian telecoms company called Ouvi.

Ouvi claims that the Nokia branded service has a name which is very similar to theirs. This is likely to cause confusion in customer’s mind and hence Nokia should be stopped from using it.
Nokia said: “We believe that there is no confusion between Ovi and Ouvi”.
I am not sure if they had believed so if they were the ones targeting a smaller company!
Anyways… Ovi and Ouvi are both unregistered trademarks in Brazil as both the companies have applied for it.
It remains to be seen if Nokia could launch their mobile services with Ovi brand in Brazil.
