Nokia launches 8800 and 8801 Mobile Phones
Mobile Phone giants Nokia has announced the launch of two of their hi-tech models named the 8800 and the 8801. Both these models are essentially the same but would be targeted at different markets at different times. 8800 would be retailed in the European and Asian markets during the current quarter itself, while Nokia would launch 8801 in the third quarter.
One of the most exclusive features of these two models are the special ring tones composed by the award-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Nokia has taken care with this model to make a truly contemporary phone, which maintains a balance between form and functionality. The phone’s body is made up of stainless steel and resin materials giving it excellent strength and durability.
The phone uses an innovative ‘pop-up’ mechanism using bi-stable spring mechanism and stainless steel ball bearings similar to some automobiles. The keypad of the phone slides back to reveal a camera. The customized ringtones are quite thoughtful as well.
Nokia plans to retail these phones at a price of around €750 without taxes. The company also introduced their Wireless Stereo Headset which they plan to ship to the markets during the third quarter of the current year.
