UK based mobile service provider Orange has announced that they would start selling the Apple iPhone in the domestic market later this year.
Orange would be able to do so after the exclusivity deal between Apple and O2 expires this year.
The company said in a statement: “Orange, which has the largest 3G network covering more people in the UK than any other operator, will sell iPhone in all Orange direct channels including Orange shops, the Orange webshop and Orange telesales channels, as well as selected high street partners.”
O2 would retain the rights to sell the iPhone in the UK market. They already are serving around 1 million iPhone customers in the country.
