Warner Music Group confirms YouTube deal
Warner Music Group has confirmed that they have signed on a deal with YouTube to provide their content on the popular online destination.
This deal would enable YouTube to broadcast videos from the archives of Warner.
Madonna and Green Day are some of the popular musicians currently signed on with Warner.
Chris Maxcy, head of Music partnerships at YouTube spoke about this deal with Warner: “It sets us up for a sustainable partnership going forward by sharing revenues, where the vast majority of the revenues will be going to Warner Music associated with advertising when consumers watch or listen to the content on YouTube.”
These two companies were in a similar deal till December last year. It was not renewed after the talks between the two companies broke down.
It is a known fact that YouTube has been working hard to get as much popular content as possible to compete effectively against the emerging competition from Hulu.
