Apple: No charges for Apple iTunes LP
Online sources recently claimed that Apple was charging as much as USD 10,000 to create iTunes LP for musicians.
The reports also claim that independent artists were not allowed to have their own LPs.
Apple has now stated that these reports are inaccurate. They are not charging extra for LPs and the format is open to anyone who is interesting.
A company representative said: “We’re releasing the open specs for iTunes LP soon, allowing both major and indie labels to create their own. There is no production fee charged by Apple.”
