Yahoo closes Paid Inclusion program

Search Engine Land has revealed that search engine company Yahoo is closing down their paid inclusion program.

The company is now redirecting visitors to the service to their advertising program.

The report quoted Yahoo saying:

Yahoo! will exit Search Submit at the end of 2009. Yahoo! is providing those advertisers affected by the decision a sufficient lead time to assist in the transition. In addition, Yahoo! has recently announced a series of important enhancements to its Search advertising business and will work closely with many Search Submit advertisers to provide them with search solutions that will benefit their businesses.

Yahoo recently entered into a deal with Microsoft which would see them using Bing search engine technology on their primary search engines in the coming years.
