American Association of Advertising Agencies in favor of Microsoft-Yahoo deal

American Association of Advertising Agencies has announced that they are in favor of the deal signed between Microsoft and Yahoo.

The deal is also being supported by other groups including Publicis Groupe, WPP, Interpublic Group of Companies and Omnicom Group.

These companies said in a combined statement: “We believe that Yahoo and Microsoft’s proposal to combine their technologies and search platforms is good for advertisers, marketing services agencies, website publishers and consumers.”

The deal between Microsoft and Yahoo would see Bing powering the Yahoo search engine in some markets.

The aim is to provide a comprehensive challenge to the domination of Google in the US market.
