Verizon testing Apple iPhone 4G?

This is one rumor which is pretty hard to believe.

Apple is currently in an exclusive deal with AT&T to sell their iPhone smartphone in the US market.

Verizon and Motorola on the other hand have just started marketing Motorola Droid smartphone which is powered by Google Android mobile platform.

Droid advertisements are essentially a direct attack on Apple iPhone and its shortcomings.

This marketing campaign resulted in industry analysts believing that Verizon has given up on selling the iPhone in the near future.

The reports in the market now claim that Verizon is working with Apple on the next generation iPhone which would support 4G networks!

The report said that the campaigns being run to market Droid are in fact produced by Motorola and not Verizon. And Verizon could very well launch the CDMA edition of iPhone on their 4G LTE network in the coming years.

Apple iPhone has only been available in the GSM version. The latest version (Apple iPhone 3GS) support Edge and 3G networks.
