Nokia sues Apple for patent infringement in iPhone
Looks like Nokia has finally realized that it would be hard for them to match the charisma of the Apple iPhone.
So, they are now trying to take the legal route. The mobile phone industry giant has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Apple.
Nokia is claiming that the iPhone infringes on their patented technologies. The case was filed earlier this month in Delaware.
The company has mentioned around 10 patents in this lawsuit. These are related to features like data, speech coding, security, encryption.
Nokia said in their filing: “Apple’s wireless communication devices take advantage of the decades of continued investments by Nokia to build today’s communication protocols. By refusing to compensate Nokia for its patented technologies, Apple is attempting to get a ‘free-ride’ on the billions of dollars that Nokia has invested.”
Apple has declined to comment on this new lawsuit. Things are likely to get hot between Apple and Nokia.
