Microsoft releases five critical patches along with removing SP2 block
World’s largest software company Microsoft announced five critical patch releases for various applications from their stables. The patches are for the Windows Operating System, the Internet Explorer, MS Word, and the MSN Messenger applications. Some of these patches are for the flaws critical enough to let malicious programmers get access to a user’s computers through worms and viruses.
The patches were released during the monthly round of updates released on the second Tuesday of the current month. The company also removed the block for Service Pack 2 of the Windows XP Operating System for the corporations who were hesitant into updating their computers to the latest update.
Also issued with these five critical patches were three other security warnings, rated at the second-highest level of ‘important’. The patches this time are quite important, as the experts have recommended the Windows Users to go and install these updates as soon as possible. All these initiatives are part of the efforts made by Microsoft ever since their chairman announced that Security was going to become the main focus of the company in the days to come.
And buying Giant Software and releasing their Anti-Spyware Application was also a part of that along with the security focused Service Pack 2.
