Yahoo replaces Google on O2 Germany Mobile Portal
Yahoo has won a small battle against Google as they have replaced the search engine giant on German edition of O2’s mobile portal.
It would now provide their services on this mobile network including easy access to Flickr, Yahoo Eurosport, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Weather, Yahoo News and Yahoo Mail.
The deal would also see them providing their search and mobile advertising.
Yahoo already has similar deals in place with other mobile operators including Telefonica in Latin America and O2 in UK.
Mitch Lazar, managing director of Yahoo Mobile Europe said: “We don’t believe consumers want millions of links. It’s why we have this hunger to reinvent and innovate around mobile because it’s a place we could differentiate and redefine.”
