AdMob acquired by Google for USD 750 million
Google has acquired AdMob which had become a significant player in the mobile advertising market.
This deal is worth around USD 750 million and it could be bad news for both Yahoo and Microsoft in this segment of the market.
This would now help Google to expand their presence in the mobile advertising market which is becoming bigger by the day.
Google spoke about AdMob: “Mobile advertising has enormous potential as a marketing medium and while this industry is still in the early stages of development, AdMob has already made exceptional progress in a very short time.”
This acquisition could also become an important aspect of Google’s mobile strategy. They are the name behind the Android mobile platform. AdMob could become a part of the Android ecosystem enabling manufacturers to provide cheaper hardware/software solutions in the future.
