Google SafeSearch now much more powerful
Google has updated their SafeSearch search on their search engine to ensure that it cannot be tempered with.
Google SafeSearch is designed to prevent sexually explicit web sites and images from appearing on search result pages.
Till now, it has been a setting that can be changed by anyone accessing the service.
Google has now updated it with a password function so that the settings can only be changed by the administrator of the machine.
This means that parents can now set settings as per their preference to ensure their kids do not get bad results on Google search.

The result pages after the setting are also different as an image would appear at the top right to highlight that SafeSearch is locked.
One thing to remember though… The password protection is not really hard. It is saved in a cookie. So cleaning the browser cookie would reset all the permissions.
