Iraqi government now has an official channel on YouTube
Iraqi government has now launched their own official channel on the Google owned video sharing service YouTube.
This channel was launched after the visit from Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
Schmidt has already announced that Google would launch online a photo archive of the Iraqi Museum early next year.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki spoke about their YouTube channel: “The world has not seen what the Iraqi government has been able to achieve in regard to security, economy, politics and building a federal democratic system. The government sees in this video technology an opportunity to show our achievements.”
This means one thing at least… YouTube is unlikely to be banned in Iraq now that it has this unofficial collaboration with Google!
