Forum Systems join Computer Associates to protect XML Traffic
As the XML becomes popular, we see more applications based on this impressive technology especially related to e-commerce. It is replacing the traditional proprietary standards developed by the companies to interact with each other. However, there is a minor issue in this, which is the data security of the critical data being exchanged during these transactions.
Now, two of the giants of their industries… Forum Systems and Computer Associates are joining hands to integrate their technologies to develop products to secure these transactions. Forum Systems would be integrating its XWall Web Services Firewall with Computer Associates’ eTrust Antivirus software. The aim is to stop the attack of viruses, worms, and other malicious code from entering networks via XML, Soap, and attachments.
Deployment of such tools would minimize the risks associated with threats that can damage IT infrastructure, degrade network performance and in the end hurting mission critical applications running in various business modules. The companies aim to ship the XML Firewall based products by the month of May. The costing of these solutions is expected to be in between $5,000 to $40,000.
