Universal Music Group files a lawsuit against Grooveshark
We are big fans of Grooveshark as it provides easy access to songs we listen to. The free version is supported by advertising.
The company however faces a new lawsuit filed by Universal Music Group which claims that Grooveshark is hosting illegal copies of songs owned by them.

Universal claims that Grooveshark is paying nothing to provide online access to these songs from their servers.
Universal further claims in their lawsuit that Grooveshark is not allowing media companies to use copyright filtering software on their network like similar other online services.
Grooveshark incidentally faced a similar lawsuit filed by EMI earlier but the two companies settled their differences. Let’s hope Grooveshark is able to settle this new lawsuit with Universal as well.
