Hyundai Motors is largest exporters of cars in India
Looks like Hyundai is one company which leaves no stones unturned to show how to do business here in India. They entered the company at a stage where no one had heard about them. They had a car, which did not exactly look good (Santro in the earliest avatar). They made the right decisions, hired the right people. They got themselves Shah Rukh Khan as their brand ambassador. A decision, which practically made the company a household name in India. They still retain Shah Rukh and have practically become the only possible company in India to perhaps someday challenge Maruti at his home ground.
Both Santro and Accent have been best sellers in their class. Sonata is still charming though the new version expected to come sometime this year is not drawing rave reviews from the crowd. Hyundai remains one of the safest options to buy a car with its extensive service network and great resale value.
The latest news in puts more light on the achievements of the company. Hyundai just recently became India’s largest automobile exporter. In the last year alone, the company turned around a 95% growth rate. They plan to ramp up the production from 2,50,000 cars to around 4,00,000 cars in the next couple of years to meet the renewed demand from the domestic and export market.
The company’s export grew from 42,000 car units to around 82,000 units. This took them to the top of the chart of Indian Exporters consisting of formidable competition like Tata and Maruti. The company said that most of the exports were to the European and American countries. Middle East also made up for some serious numbers. The company also reported a turnover of around Rs. 7500 crores (including excise duty) for the year.
