Eileen Collins ok with Shuttle delay
It is now confirmed that the Space Shuttle is delayed as the government sources revealed a couple of days back. And the good news is that the flight commander of this mission Eileen Collins thinks it is al right. In a statement to the press, Collins said: “The longer you prepare for something, the better it’s going to be. We want this mission to be very, very successfulâ€.
The delay is to help the space organization make sure that nothing is left to make sure that the launch of the shuttle is as safe as possible. There are certain guidelines yet to be met by NASA though the new NASA chief Dr Mike Griffin has already made it clear that they would decide if the shuttle is safe for the mission or not irrespective of the fact that the committee finds it unsafe or not.
Critics still have some doubts that incidents similar to what happened with the Columbia shuttle might happen again and NASA would be making sure that nothing of that sort happens again. Collins and her crewmates arrived at the Kennedy Space Center for a practice launch countdown. The crew is working hard practicing for their mission and is eager to go for the re-birth of the Space Shuttle so dear to the American people.
