In response to the growing consumer demand of getting Skype into the Nokia phones, the Skype application is now available for Nokia Smart Phone users and can be grabbed from the Ovi Stores. Skype is also planning to work with other manufactures to introduce this facility on other models working on Symbian platform.
This new development will now let the millions of Nokia smart phone users worldwide, to be able to use the Skype application over the various mobile networks such as Wi-Fi or mobile broadband. The Skype application is getting increasingly popular for its free calls to other Skype clients anywhere in the world.
The Nokia smart phone users can benefit significantly from this development as it will allow them to spend much lesser on international calls and roaming charges, which has been an expensive affair in the past days. The customer will only be required to pay for the existing data package and enjoy the cheap international calls and roaming by using the Skype application on mobile. However, this surely means a slash in revenues for mobile operators, and Nokia must have made sure that this goes well with its operators as well.
Nokia smart phone editions to benefit from this application mainly include Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music etc. The Skype application requires Symbian platform on Nokia Smart Phones. One can check out mobile phone reviews to find out more about Nokia Smart Phones.
