Reports say Mars likely to have life

Mars has remained a mystery for the humankind since long. We have assumed that life exists there since quite sometime. Now we just might have some proof of that. Scientists have gathered evidence, which suggests that biological processes might be operating on the red planet and life on the red planet is quite possible.

There are few instances of proof, which suggests that some form of life does exist on the web. However, nothing is so concrete that would remove all doubts from the critics. European space program has been thinking hard about sending a lander to find it, American space agency NASA is more cautious due to the failures it has suffered in the past.

An astro-biologist at the Planetary and Space Sciences Research Institute in UK, Ian Wright said in a statement: “The life on Mars issue has recently undergone a paradigm shift to the extent now that one can talk about the possibility of present life on Mars without risking scientific suicide”.

One of the prime names doing the rounds is the head of research at Italy’s Institute of Physics and Interplanetary Space, Vittorio Formisano who recently presented data at the Mars Express Science Conference at Noordwijk in the Netherlands related to this research. He found during the research that formaldehyde was present in huge quantity in the atmosphere. This is a big sign of presence of methane in large quantity on the surface of Mars.
