Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Media Blitz
Maruti Udyog has rarely been so aggressive about a model launch. Suzuki Swift happens to be THE most exciting model in the company’s history in India. And they are playing an interesting game. The photos are out in the media, which has made the public quite curious. The biggest game they have played is by collaborating with the Yash Chopra camp.
In what could be considered as one of the finest example of surrogate advertisements, Maruti Suzuki Swift would be launched in the Indian market along with the release of the much-awaited movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli’. The car and the movie would come out in the public together on May 27.
India’s largest automobile company has also managed to strategically place the beautiful Swift in the movie itself. The Shaad Ali directed movie just might become the launch pad of another best seller in the Indian market from the Japanese company normally discredited for launching outdated products.
The company has also big marketing plans for the Maruti Swift as they have hired a selected group of people who would be working from Maruti dealerships on just promoting the Swift model in the curious customer base who would be more than interested in knowing what this car has to offer. Hyundai have their Getz directly in the way of the success of Swift for Maruti. And knowing Maruti, the South Korean company has tough days ahead.

listen gentleman, looks cant make u feel luxurious or even comfortable, given the background of maruti providing feature stripped cars ( even the top models lack in rear window power)….you cannot compare them with a sntro, let alone elantra and merc……keep up with ur cheap cost reducing measures ….maruti team…they seem to have failed again…

NEW DELHI: The soon-to-debut Suzuki Swift will sport a 1.3 litre gasoline engine, roll out in three variants and pack in some serious luxury features in the top-end model. The Swift will come in the base Lxi version, the mid-range Vxi and the top-end Zxi variants.
The base Lxi is likely to cost Rs 3.99-4.25 lakh range while the Vxi will straddle the Rs 4.25-4.5 lakh range. The top end Zxi will sport a Rs 4.75 lakh tag, say industry sources.
The Swift will come armed with more-than-normal bells and whistles in its top end variant. Like rival Getz it will pack in the power steering as a standard fitment in all three variants. Both the Lxi and Vxi will have manual air conditioning and heater.
The base model will also have front and rear fog lamps, wide tread 165/80 R14 steel wheel tyres and flared arches for better stability combined with side impact beams as well.
The mid-range Vxi will have front and rear electric windows, central locking for four doors, front and rear fog lamps and key-not-removed warning buzzer. The top-end Zxi will have all the Vxi features plus the automatic climate control system which is a feature unique to premium and luxury vehicles. It will also have rear window wiper and demister, dual front airbags, ABS and keyless entry.
The top-end variant will sport wider 185/70 R14 alloy tyres. The Swift, Suzukis first world car with European styling, was launched in Japan end 2004 and is currently being launched across Europe, followed by India and later China.

from outside swift certainly looks world class and comparable to the best hatchbacks available, but as according to the old problem with the maruti people towards thier attempt to minimise cost has yet again led to compromises in the interiors. its no way near to the top model xing let alone a getz. concludin i would say they had great potential with the looks but ruined it with pathetic interiors.

swift has european style. i wonder it is fuel efficient since the body dont seem to be aerodynamic. BUT Maruti named for its precision engines in its segment, a car like swift at the given price is UNMATCHABLE.
