Kirk Kerkorian’s Tracinda Corp. wants a part of General Motors
In a deal that would be worth around USD 870 million, Kirk Kerkorian’s Tracinda Corp. is offering to acquire nearly 5 percent stake in General Motors Corporation. If the deal goes through, it would mean that they would own almost 9% of the world’s largest automaker.
The company said in a statement released today that they had an offer on table to buy 28 million shares, or 4.95 percent, of GM stock at $31 a share in cash. This price is a premium of 11.6 percent over GM’s closing stock price on Tuesday.
They also clarified that the proposal is for investment sake only and the news led to a jump of around USD 1.8 in GM Shares.

Tracinda could save GM. Their management is terrible,their plans for a fuel cell are dreams that shall probably not be fulfilled. Auto people should run the co.–not lawyers and accountants. Tragedy that such a formerly great co. should have fallen so low.

NAO will restructure and evolve into a Space-frame Housing Industry. Our world civilization will have no more bottlenecks for the free flow of goods and services. The new housing industry will build domes, 3/4 spheres, and modular cities that will recycle its materials back into industry. We are at the threshold of a new world industry. GM should move as quickly as possible to fuel efficient, clean diesel engines. This could be coupled with a hybred diesel-electic system. A move to virtually ALL diesel engines could solve our energy dependance on foreign oil, be better for the enviroment, creat hundreds of thousands of new high paying jobs and help strengthen our dollar and help our balance of payments deficit. If the country then moved to bio-diesel, we could be totally energy self sufficient, it would create even more permanent high paying jobs and be a boon to the farming industry and its suppliers.

Of all the comments Jacob Deutscham understands the big picture, bookkeepers and lawyers havent a clue of whats going on. G.M. should of hired Lee Iacocca when he left Ford, due to their arrogance they did not. Arrogance is what is bringing them down.Mr. K is the answer.

One way to fix general motors, would be to get back to model identy.
All medium duty trucks should be Chevrolet. As it is now you have GMC
competing with Chevrolet over the same vechile. Maybe its time to go
back to the basic chevrolet-Ford. Cadillac- Lincoln Mercury. Buick- Chrysler. Ditch Pontiac and Saturn. Keep ummer as a defenece contract?
Aslo pruduce fewer models in each division. Ie: have a large, medium, compact, sports car, and of course the Corvette. The big key is model identy, it would be nice to look at a vechile and tell if its a chevy, cadilliac or a buick.
