NASA had to delay Shuttle Launch

NASA was not prepared to launch the Space Shuttle this month. This has been revealed by the mission commander Eileen Collins. She said that NASA had no option by to delay the launch of the first ever mission of Space Shuttle in the space since the Columbia disaster in 2003. Engineers working on the mission discovered a potential security hazard and they had to work on it make the launch as safe as possible.

Eileen Collins said in a statement: “We can’t fly with anything that’s an unacceptable risk”. She is currently working with her crew at the Florida’s Kennedy Space Center taking part in the practice launch countdown for the mission aboard Discovery. Space Shuttle is now scheduled to fly in the middle of July as per latest reports from the NASA.

NASA delayed the launch of Space Shuttle last week for the second time in a row. This was after a review by its engineers found that some areas remained vulnerable to damages during the launch period. The crew on their part would be using this extra found time to prepare for any potential repair job required on the body panels of the Shuttle in space.

Discovery was brought to the launch pad last month. However, it would be now moved back to the assembly building for more work on the tank. NASA is taking no chances with the security of this mission, which could potentially make or break their reputation on one of their finest accomplishments ever.
