PalmOne launches LifeDrive with 4 GB HDD
So, Research in Motion overtook PalmOne as the most popular PDA manufacturer around with their Blackberry Device. But the giant is back. PalmOne has just launched their latest device in LifeDrive. They are currently in the market with the excellent Treo range of models and this would further enhance their range of offerings.
With LifeDrive, PalmOne have solved one of the biggest flaws in their past offerings, lack of memory and storage space. LifeDrive Mobile Manager is the first PDA in the market to come with a hard drive for storage. And the capacity is impressive at a massive four GBs.
It features a large 320×480 high-resolution color screen. And it also comes with the recently becoming popular ‘flip from landscape to portrait mode’. It is powered by a fast 416MHz Intel XScale processor plus built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking.
The hard disk supplied with LifeDrive is a Hitachi Microdrive, which is as per the company’s report 30 percent faster than the previous-generation model. This would mean that user get access to the data at a faster rate.
The estimated street price of this device is around USD 499.
