Vodafone goes basic with new models
Most of the news nowadays in the mobile market is about the latest gadgets with new features. Innovation is the name of the game and phones are becoming a symbol of status. However, there are still some customers out there who are looking for the basic functionalities that these phones are supposed to provide. That is voice and text messaging services.
This segment is where Vodafone is focusing on with their latest products. With popular demand, they have launched two new mobile handsets offering just voice and text services. Both the models come with large screen for better legibility of screen content. There are three dedicated buttons for direct access to the main screen, contacts and messages.
The two phones are codenamed VS1 and VS2. While the Vodafone Simply Sagem VS1 is a curvy, silver handset, the VS2 is straight and black. The handsets are expected to cost £80 in a pre-paid plan. The customer offering for a monthly price plan will get the handset free.
Analysts have reported that there is a large segment of customers out there especially the older people who are looking for such products. This was also confirmed in a report published last year by consultancy firm Cap Gemini. They discovered that many customers were not exactly enticed by what the mobile companies were offering in the market.
This step from Vodafone would be pleasing that segment of customers.
