Steve Jobs talks about the future and iTunes supporting Podcasts

Apple is now considering adding support for the Podcasts on their iTunes application as on Sunday Steve Jobs showed the media a working version of a forthcoming release. He promised that the company would be releasing it to the public within 2 months.

The event was the Jobs keynote address at the Wall Street Journal’s D Conference, currently underway outside San Diego, California. He also said that the new version would be capable of playing and managing the Podcasts. However, what was actually demonstrated in the conference is not confirmed.

He also said that Apple was for the time being only interested in the free content for Podcasts. Paid content might arrive in the future. Jobs also talked about the merging of the iTunes with mobile phones. He spoke about the complications, which occur due to collaborating with other companies like they are facing with Motorola. Apple is currently working with the mobile company to launch iTunes compatible mobile phones later this year.

Just last week, Jobs announced the support for supply video content on the iTunes Music Store. However, he did not confirm whether apple would soon someday be selling movies and similar content on the web like it does with music currently.
