Volkswagen considering opening a plant at Visakhapatnam
Volkswagen is one of the biggest automaker in the world and is now considering starting its car manufacturing operations in India. They already have a presence in India through their subsidiary Skoda that is doing rather well and they have recently launched their Audi luxury cars in India.
The company is due to hold a vendor’s meeting for the proposed Visakhapatnam manufacturing plant in Hyderabad later this week. This is one of the only first meetings by the German auto giant with more planned with companies in Gurgaon and other cities.
VW is being led by a ten-member delegation, including Volkswagen’s India project head Helmuth Schuster. They are due to arrive in India today and will be visiting the project location in Visakhapatnam. Later they would be arriving in Hyderabad for the proposed meet with the vendors. The trip would also include visits to other places of interests for the company.
Later during their visit, the delegation would also visit the Indian School of Business and some Information Technology companies in the region. In addition, the company is also discussing the possibilities of moving its Skoda operations from Aurangabad to the Vizag facility.
The company would be targeting both the domestic and international markets through this manufacturing unit.

We cant be sure of the volks wagon car factory starting its operations till it actually comes. The way our bureuocracy and politicians work for kick backs, any enterpreuner will run away from our state.Thats why alot of industries are ending up only with proposals.

Throughout the world when it comes to best of technologies, & that too in the automotive segment, we are sure to get the best from Germany. Volkswagen is a major in its field in Germany & Worldwide & India should look upon getting VW for a revolutionary rise in the luxury car segment for betterment in overall market scenario including added potential for exports. Even the systems used for setting up their plant would be of top technology which will be worth the watch for India for local manufacturers.

Volkswagen would immensely benefit the indian middle class family by bringing one of its more affordable, efficient and quality cars to India. Its a win-win situation since the Indian market has not even reached half its potential. All the very best VOLKSWAGEN.

The volkswagen s deal is in air since so looong…When the top Management of VW is not able to take any decision about their plans to set up their unit in india,Why they are making unnecessary visits to the proposed site….????
They should conclude some where ,Being a global giant they should not keep so much of apprehension which in turn reduces their brand image….Indeed i worked for it in Germany,Iam very glad to be a part of it…..Hope my wish will come true….
