Microsoft launches China specific portal in MSN China
Microsoft has launched a local portal of one of the potentially biggest market in the world, China. They launched the portal officially in Beijing to cater to the local audiences. For providing local content and services, the world’s largest software maker has collaborated with nine established Chinese partners including Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd, Shanghai Media Group Broad Band, Taobao.com, ourgame.com and ynet.com.
The company also plans to improve their webmail service (MSN Hotmail), messaging client (MSN Messenger) and blogging application (MSN Spaces) to suit the consumers in China. They would also be bringing in more offerings in the near future. The company considers this to be a major achievement and a milestone in the long-term strategy of the company.
One of the collaborators, Shanghai Media Group’s representative Gao Yun Fei spoke to the media about this launch: “MSN’s partner strategy seeks to combine their advanced technology and management experience and local partners’ familiarity with the target market. this will surely benefit the Chinese IT industry.â€
This portal would let the Chinese consumers access the various services provided by the company in their local language letting them use them easily and efficiently.
