Sharp to manufacture world’s largest LCD TV at 65 Inch
Samsung Electronics currently holds the record for selling the largest LCD Television with the size at 46 inches. However, Sharp is going to take over with their upcoming 65 inches LCD TV planning for sale in the current year itself. The model is LC-65GE1 Aquos TV and it would have the capabilities of displaying HD picture with 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels of resolution.
The TV would feature an aspect ration of 16:9 and have a brightness of 630 candelas per square meter. It would also have an impressive viewing angle of 170 degrees. Japan would be the first country to get this product expected to retail at USD 15, 560. The company is yet to decide upon the international launch.
Sharp would me producing just 300 units of this mega sized TV for the local Japanese market. International market should require another 1000-2000 units per month. Japan is a growing market for such LCD television sets as it is due to become one of the first nations where these television sales would exceed the sales of normal CRT Televisions.
The company would also in addition enhance their routine LCD range of televisions with new seven LCD TVs models in the coming months to capture this market. These would come in sizes of 22 inches to 59 inches. All of these models would also feature the new backlight technology that allows the TVs to show more natural shades of colors as per the information released by the company.
