Toyota Vitz is Japan’s Top Selling Car along with Corolla
Toyota again took the honors of being the maker of the top two best selling cars in the Japanese market. Toyota Vitz and Corolla topped the nation’s monthly ranking of passenger vehicles. This is for the fifth consecutive time that these two models have brought pride to their parent company.
Toyota Vitz was launched in a new avatar this February and since then it has been the best selling car in the domestic market for the Japanese auto giant. It sold 10,848 units in May, which is more the double the figure from last year. Corolla on the other hand sold 10,694 units last month. This figure however was lower when compared to last year’s figures.
The company has launched an amazing number of five vehicles in the market in the last 12 months alone. This included the new Vitz and the hybrid version of their Harrier sport-utility vehicle. They also managed to impress in the competitive American market where they witnessed a growth in sales comparing to the falling sales of the top three American Auto Giants.
Coming back to the Japanese market, Honda came third on the sales chart with their Honda Fit compact car, which sold 8775 units last month. This model also has not changed its position since the month of February.
