Google launches their version of the like button named +1
Google has finally launched their own version of the Like button made popular by Facebook.
They have named it +1.
It works similar to how the Facebook Like button works. But they are using the power of their search engine to make it useful.
It would appear along with all of their search results in the future. It would also appear along with all their ads.
Users who find certain search results and ads helpful would be able to +1 it. These would be highlighted in the future for them and their social connections.
The collective data would be used in rankings as well.
This feature is currently available through Google Experiments. It would soon be available to all signed in Google users. And probably to everyone who uses the Google Search in the future.
