Intel looking towards growing profit figures

Things seem to be going well for Intel now. They have announced their Pentium D Dual Core Processors, which is priced quite low, compared to offerings from the competitor AMD. They would be going all out in this segment later this year. They are collaborating with mobile giant Nokia to spread the emerging protocol WiMax. And Apple has just announced their historic decision to move over from IBM chips to Intel microprocessors.

All these have led to a stage that the company has raised its revenue and profit margin forecast for the second quarter. They are citing growing demand for their Centrino package for the mobile computers for this decision. The company has raised its sales growth from $9.1 billion to $9.3 billion.

The profitability of the Intel largely depends upon the demand for the personal computers in the market. And mobile computers are the fastest growing segment in this market. Intel’s Centrino package is a popular solution for the PC manufacturers to design and develop notebooks. The company has also noticed a massive improvement in their share market position with their stock value rising by around 25% in the last couple of months.

This news comes just days after the Semiconductor Industry Association boosted its annual forecast for chip sales.
