T-Mobile now serves half million users in United States

Deutsche Telekom owned T-Mobile Telecommunication Company has reported that it serves around 500,000 customers in the United States alone through their Wi-Fi network spread around the country. Wi-Fi networks allow users to access the Internet through wireless connectivity from hotspots developed for the same purposes.

They have on offer around 5,700 U.S. Wi-Fi networks, or hot spots especially in locations like coffee shops and airports. They are in this line of work for more than 3 years now and have the distinction of being the forth-largest mobile company in the United States.

Wi-Fi hotspots face heavy competition from mobile Internet companies but the company has assured that the demand for their services is increasing and the growth was steady. The official word from the general manager of T-Mobile’s hot spot business, Joe Sims: “If the growth was steady in the past its been much more dramatic in the last several months.”

These hotspots are preferred by not only teens but also old customers along with business travelers through their mobile computers and PDAs. The good news for the company is that most of these users tend to have their mobile company as T-Mobile as well. However, the company expects the competition from mobile net providers to intensify in the coming days as they start to cover bigger regions.
