Chrysler Group considering re-launching the Dodge Challenger

Looks like the American Auto Giants are realizing the value of the old era when big giant sports cars ruled the roads. Bruised and struggling with the popularity of the Japanese Automobiles in the US market, more than just a few of the legendary brands from the past are now available in the market. And they are quite successful as well!

Ford Mustang and Ford Thunderbird are some of the popular models from the yesteryears, which are making a mark in today’s times. Now Chrysler Group has decided to resurrect the Dodge Challenger. The news has been released in the media by the industry weekly Automotive News and it says that the company would be developing this model on the Charger model.

It would also be a two-door coupe like the original car was in the 1970s. The car would be sharing mechanical inputs from Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Magnum wagon. The company has however denied to comment on these reports in the media. If they indeed go ahead with this car, it is expected to counter the competition from Ford Mustang and the Pontiac GTO.

However, it will not arrive in the market anytime sooner than 2009.
