Kingfisher Airlines orders A350 from Airbus

Airbus, the European airline industry giant got a boost when they received more orders for their A350 plane. They now have orders of 117 planes though 60 of them are yet to be confirmed by the Qatar Airways where the final negotiations are still going on. The latest company to join their client’s list is Kingfisher Airlines, the newly launched airlines in the growing Indian market.

Kingfisher Airlines has ordered 15 Airbus aircraft, including five A350s, five A380 super jumbos, and five A330s. This plane is scheduled to go into service in 2010 and the company needs the orders in hand to make that happen. Their prime competitor Boeing currently has the advantage with 266 orders of their 787 Dreamliner.

The company thinks that it was a mistake to leave the mid-sized market to Boeing and their A350 has given little competition to the 787 from Boeing. They are making up for the lost time with these fresh efforts to get the new orders. They aim to get 200 orders this year and are on their way of achieving that target.
