Google incorporating Wikipedia content in search results?
Their has been lot of speculation on a possible collaboration between Google and Wikipedia. The search engine giant has been reported to have offered hosting facility to the world’s largest open source online encyclopedia and uses their content indirectly through the website Answers.com.
However, during a routine search I made today… I saw this interesting result, which has been a personal first from Google searches. I am not sure whether it has been like this in the past but Google has apparently started to include Wikipedia quotations on their search result pages for selected keywords.
Whether I happened to catch this incident during a routine random testing by the Google people or this is a normal happening, we should know in the coming days. Until then, enjoy Google and its amazingly powerful search engine.

The wikipedia result is still there at the top of the search results.
Still there.
1) the necessary keyword appears to be “biography” - you can “trick” it by searching, for instance, “man biography”.
2) it seems odd to mention Google’s offer of hosting (which to my knowledge has not yet resulted in anything) without mentionning the parallel talks, which actually came to something, with Yahoo!
right. biography is the keyword to bring in wikipedia content :)
I don’t believe the wikipedia is the only source Google pulls this information from. The behavior was announced by Google in this blog post.
