Google Search Engine optimized for Mobile Phones now in UK
Search Engines are increasingly aiming for the large market of users who uses their mobile devices like phones and PDAs to access the net. Yahoo! and Google both have been offering search results from mobiles using the SMS feature for quite sometime. However, Google has moved a step further with their web searching of the content available on the net optimized for the mobile phones.
Google Mobile Web Search is the new offering from the world’s most used search engine and they are now offering it to their UK based customers. This service is based on searching the web pages specially designed for the mobile phone’s smaller screen size using the mobile devices itself.
Google says that there are tons of websites out their catering to the mobile phone users through content developing using the XHTML language. As net usage on mobile phones get more popular, more publishers would be making their content available to mobile users, and this market is destined to grow big for the marketers. The service has been available to users in USA and Canada already.
Users can visit the Google Mobile Web Search page using their small screen devices and type in their query to search for these optimized web pages. The result pages are ad-free at this moment though the company might change this policy at a later date. The other Google services available to mobile users are Google Local, Image Search, and Web Search, along with Google SMS.
